Great authentic flavor. A little pricey for what it is but you get tender, home cooking beef noodle soup that's been slow cooked! I love supporting small business. I highly recommend their beef noodle soup. The spicy wontons were just ok.

I made a reservation by phone here for a Sunday night around 7pm. It was not needed as they weren't busy - 2 other tables ate there while we were there (there are about 10-12 tables total). They also were not set up for us despite my calling in. The owner is very extroverted and will make recommendations, especially for what works for children. I'm sure the chicken wonton noodle soup she recommended would've been great, but I got the Zha-jiang Noodle because it's an established dish my kids like. * Zha-jiang noodle ($16.99) - 4 stars. Nice thick hand cut noodles. Good thick meat sauce. * Taiwan Beef Noodles ($17.99) - 4 stars. Very tasty, great tender meat, a bit spicy! Don't let it go down the wrong pipe or it will sting. * Taiwanese Pork Rice Bowl ($17.99) - 3 stars. Fine, recommended as a 3rd dish by the owner.

The name is a little misleading! We walked in expecting it to be a Chong Qing noodle place (area of China with spicy noodles) and the menu turned out to primarily focus on Taiwanese noodles, though they still did have a Chong Qing noodle dish on the menu, and the Taiwanese dishes could still be made spicy. Also, there were skewers on the back of the menu but they said there were no skewers. That's why I took off a star. The food itself was delicious however. Highly recommend getting their hand pulled noodle option rather than the thin noodles (unless you don't like thick noodles) as it's made in-house and has a great texture. The spicy sauce they add to the noodles is great too. We didn't really get anything outside of noodles so no comment on the appetizers.

Chong Qing Noodles House 1635 Park St Alameda, CA 94501 (510) 744-6973 Nov. 30, 2024. What better way to enjoy Park Street on a Thanksgiving Saturday weekend. Parking spot 10 feet from Chong Qing. I have been wanting to try this place out but on a normal weekday or weekend, good luck on parking. Have come pretty close many times to UBER service to Chong Qing. Everything about this place from the outside I love. The patio/outdoor seatings are nice. Will have to come back here during the warmer months to enjoy the outdoors. Fried crispy pork (not pictured) but it delicious, love the crispiness of it. AND the vinegarish dipping sauce was the bomb. I love spicy sauces; I added extra kick of the chili oil. Egg roll (not pictured). Vegetable egg roll. It was ok, typical vegetable egg rolls. Next time I will order the scallion pancake and try the tofu with century egg. The owner gave us sample pieces of the wood ear mushroom and the sixi kaofu gluten salad. Thank you. Zha jiang noodle. Love it. Love it very much that it does not have onions. First time I ordered this at another place it had so much onion-I did not finish it. Simplicity at times works best when it comes to dishes. Next time I will try the cold version. Braised pork noodle soup. Half beef and half tendon. Beef and tendon braised so tender. The broth was flavorful. Taiwanese pork rice bowl. This rice bowl was delicious. Highly recommend. Must order the thick noodles with the soups. So fresh and chewy. Overall, it was a great 1st visit. Highly recommend Chong Qing Noodles House. Thank you for the awesome great food and service.

Fantastic and authentic Chinese food on Park. Came after a Trunk or Treat event and the service was super friendly and good and the food was delicious and made to order. Had the Taiwan Beef Noodles, cucumber appetizer, pork and cabbage dumplings, and wontons in chili oil that are made fresh on site daily. The knife cut noodles are really good as other reviewers have said and the broth is very rich and flavorful without being too oily. It's an open kitchen so you can see and hear your food being made to order. The cucumber salad was really good and not too spicy for my kids. The meat was not fatty or too chewy. The wontons were really delicious! Will definitely recommend this place and be back. Kid friendly and the booths are cute and cozy also. Two of them face a large window. There is a fridge for drinks and they have a kind of beer called Snow Beer I haven't seen before that looks cool to try next time.
